availability

  • We hire the Lake out for 6 events a year between May and September.

  • Access is given from 8am Thursday through to 12pm on Monday for the chosen weekend of your event. This allows time for you and your suppliers to set up and clear away, with the event lasting a period of 12 hours.

  • Please note if you only wish to use the field for 2 or 3 days that is fine, but the cost will be the same.


Price

  • The cost to hire Shepham Lake is £1,750. This includes access for 4.5 days and a 12 hour event period.

  • To hire the site and secure a booking we require a non-refundable 50% deposit.

  • We also require a damage deposit of £250.

  • The damage deposit will be refunded within 7 days of your booking subject to any damages or costs being incurred.

What’s included

  • The field - a blank canvas for you to plan your event how you wish.

  • Parking.

  • Water.

  • Space for some camping on the night of your event only. Maximum 50 people.


before you decide

  • The price is based on a maximum of 200 guests and a maximum 12 hour event period.

  • Music curfew is 23:00 (there are no exceptions).

  • If you plan to hire a sound system or DJ, we ask that you use our preferred supplier Penguin Media Hire, who are based in Brighton. Music must be overseen by a paid professional and not a member of the party.

  • We are not an established campsite but we do allow camping the night of your event, this is limited to a maximum of 50 people. It is your responsibility to arrange any bell tents etc.

  • No fireworks or Chinese lanterns.

  • No dogs except guide dogs.

  • Biodegradable confetti only.

  • No open fires - fire-pits open to discussion.

  • No fishing allowed.

  • No swimming allowed.

  • You will need to hire a generator and toilets - your chosen marquee company can normally help you organise this.

  • You will need event insurance, including public liability insurance, to cover you and your friends/family/guests for the duration of the hire period.

  • Should it be appropriate for your event (e.g. if you plan to sell alcohol), you are responsible for applying for a Temporary Event Notice (TEN) from Wealden District Council.
